2012 Offshore Mariculture Conference dinner announced

Turkish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock to host the Offshore Mariculture Conference Gala Dinner

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock in Turkey, the host country of the 2012 Offshore Mariculture Conference, will arrange and host the Conference Gala dinner on 17 October 2012.

The gala dinner, which is known for its grandeur and excellent networking opportunities, will this year be held onboard the Lamia super yacht designed by the famous Italian architect Guiseppe De Jorio.

Following the first day of presentations the delegates will be able to take a short stroll from the conference hotel to the pier, where the hosts from the Ministry will be waiting to welcome them onboard the yacht. Following the welcome reception the Lamia will then start its cruise of Izmir bay while the guests are enjoying an exquisite buffet of Turkish farmed seafood.

The specific focus on Turkey is expected to attract Government officials from farming nations looking to learn how they can adapt Turkey’s successful spatial planning policy into their own Ministries of Fisheries/Environment and Tourism. In addition international farming companies and suppliers looking to enter and/or invest in the Turkish market are expected to attend.

The Conference is supported by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, the Central Union of Turkish Aquaculture Producers as well as the European Aquaculture Society, the European Technology and Innovation Platform and the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers.

The 4th Offshore Mariculture Conference will be held in Izmir, Turkey on 17-19 October 2012 will be chaired by Neil Sims, co-Founder and co-CEO Kampachi Farms, and will bring industry professionals together to network, discuss topical issues and exchange information and ideas on the business of offshore fish farming.  Following two days of technical presentations and discussion, delegates will also have the opportunity to visit an offshore fish farm.
