EAT is an important initiative because it combines global health with sustainable food production. Fish farming will play a significant role in this area, and contributing to this work is very motivating says Cermaq CEO Jon Hindar.

EAT's ambition is to create a healthy and sustainable food system. An important fundament for this work is cooperation cross the fields of academia, politics and business.

"We are very pleased to have Cermaq as a Business Partner to EAT. Our partners are carefully selected institutions and companies that contribute with economic support, strategic advice and important competence. Aquaculture is an important area for us, and Cermaq has a clear sustainability profile in its operations that we look forward to gaining knowledge from," says EAT's Senior Director Dag Hvaring.

At Cermaq's sustainability seminar in Oslo 3 June, Cermaq put focus on what the aquaculture industry can do to deliver the salmon quality the consumers want. EAT's perspective on which role salmon and the salmon industry plays in the global diet was presented by Dr Alessandro Demaio, postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School and member of EAT's advisory board.
