22/06/2016: Fish in UK pool killed by hot weather

Over UK£1000 worth of fish have died in a pool in Shropshire in the UK due to a lack of oxygen brought on by hot weather and low rainfall, the Shropshire Star reports.

Dedicated volunteers, including local firemen on their training evening, got to work with a hired pump to transfer more water into the shallow pool in order to save the remaining fish.

However, longer-term work will still be needed to avoid a recurrence of the problem, including dredging the pool and making it significantly deeper.
